Prompt for ChatGPT
Summary of the project
I am writing a book and I want your help organizing all of my writings into a coherent and logical argument.
To begin, I have created an outline of the entire book, that serves as the backbone and structure of the entire book in outline form. The link to this outline can be found at this url link.
The order of the headings and bullet points in the outline are designated in markdown as follows
- Section Title - h1 heading with one # - The global sections.
- Chapter title - h2 heading with two ## - the main arguments
- Heading - h3 heading with three ### - the sub-arguments
- Bullet points (nested dashes)- the main points of each sub argument and/or supporting evidence.
The first three levels of markdown headings H1, H2, and H3 are the levels of the outline, and should be used for the purpose of the organization of the book, and would encompass the table of contents for this book.
The table of contents are also the primary points of the argument that I am trying to make in the book. Simply put if someone were to only read the table of contents, they could understand at a somewhat basic level the point of the whole book. That structure, or backbone (table of contents) is what I am calling the âargument in briefâ seen at this url link to argument in brief It will appear in the book after the introduction but before the first section of content.
The final division are the main points of each of the arguments made in the table of contents. I have not written out all of the paragraphs that will represent the main points of each sub argument that are listed in the outline. That is where I need your help. These bullet points are either ideas synopsized for the point of explaining what is said or they are references to either the work of other authors that I have read, or they are references to other writings that I have done. Those other writings that I have created can be found here:
I want you to take passages (long or short) from these writings and articles and place them in the outline, as they most logically fit according to the bullet points. It is important that you do not take writings from other authors to fill these bullet point areas, unless the bullet point is a specific reference to another author or a separate work. It is okay to leave a bullet point unchanged, I have written a lot of things over the years, and I believe that I have covered most of the topics in the outline, but I am sure that I have not covered everything, and I will have to build out those areas myself. But I do not want you to make something up just to fill the bullet point with something.
I expect that you will have to make editorial alterations and grammatical changes in order to take my writing, and make it logically fit into the outline, and that is okay, but I do not want you to make wholesale changes, summarizations, and or replace my writing with something completely new. I want you to focus specifically on the writings that I have linked to in this prompt only, and to use the complete writing as much as possible, unless otherwise specifically instructed.
Finally I have some general requirements that I want you to take into consideration for this project.
- For now please only focus on the main sections and chapters. The introduction is mostly finished but you could correct spelling and grammar if you see fit, but the conclusion has not been worked on yet so please dont do anything for the conclusion.
- If external references are made, I want to use footnotes. Essentially enter a superscript number, which will refer to a reference section at the end of the book, not on the same page or even chapter. I want the reference section to be like this for example if I was referencing a book by Scott Hahn, I will make that reference like this: âIn the book âthe fourth cupâ by Scott Hahn (123) he saidâŠetc.â Then in the references section at the back of the we will have each citation number (ie. 123) followed by the citation.
- I donât know what kind of reference method this is called but this is what I want to use.
- Please correct spelling and grammar as needed, but do not change the formation of the headings (h1, h2, h3) of the book at all, as they are specifically worded to make a particular point.
- For the content that you generate, I want to use the same kind of markdown structure, with h1 h2 and h3 headers, because markdown is very versatile, but the bullet points that are going to be removed, built out by you, and will be replaced by paragraphs gathered from the documents that I referenced above. In those paragraphs you are allowed to use punctuation and bold italics and other stylistic elements where needed, and even other numbered and bullet lists as needed, but do not make wholesale changes to the text content or message.
- if you could not find content for a bullet, that is totally fine, please just leave it unchanged, but add a note at the end of the bullet saying (UNCHANGED). This way I will know what I need to work on more.
- Please include âmarkdown linksâ in the argument in brief, linking to the appropriate section, header and sub header in the bulk of the book.
- I will make reference to subjects that were described more fully in earlier chapters, I do not want you to repeat all of that text in the subsequent chapters, but instead make reference to the previous chapters and even include a markdown link to that heading in the previous chapter.
Other Links that need to be reviewed and possibly use for content are the following. Please note these are not my writings and so if use they need to be properly cited.
- Fr. Longenecker Explanation
- Kingdom of Heaven
- Purgatory
- The Presence of the lord leaves the temple
- The defeat of the devil through Christ's death
- The mystery of manâs reconciliation with God
- The new Jubilee of Jesus

Lastly and most importantlyâŠ, Can you do this?
- I do not want you to say that you can and then later after we have spent much time going back and forth to find out that there is some limitation placed on your functionality that would not allow you to execute this kind of deep analysis. So I need you to think about what you can do before you answer my question.
- I need to know if you have questions for me before you begin? Like if there was something in my request that is unclear that you need more explanation onâŠ, please do not assume, but instead ask me for clarification before you begin. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to before you begin.
